Diaconal Ministries

The Deacons lead the congregation in demonstrating Biblical Stewardship as well as Spirit-led deeds of Mercy, Justice and Compassion.

The deacon team at New City is here for you!
If you are struggling to have enough food, to pay your bills, or make financial decisions - please stop struggling alone. We want to walk alongside you. If you belong to a house church, share your need with your HC leader or deacon. If you don't belong to a house church, please contact the office and we’ll get you connected. The deacons are here to share God's resources together as family!

Matthew 22:36-40
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

With support of the diaconal ministry, house church members demonstrate their love for our Lord God and for our neighbor with the sharing of our resources - time, treasure and talents - during times of need.

Acts 2:42-47
And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
